Beth: Returning to Acorn

I finally played again last night, after about a week. It's obviously the first time I've played since Shamrock Day - because I still had my hat on!

It was weird actually playing again for a long period of time, I've been so busy with college that I haven't had the chance! But luckily, I've only lost Francine. Although I liked her, I'm okay with letting her go.

Up at Retail, I noticed an unusual sign. Not only did they have perfect apples as one of the premium items - but there was 4 premium items in total!

Yes - that even means another page! It's rare for me to even have more than one in Acorn, as I have the beautiful ordinance and not the wealthy one.

Pashmina (along with many of my other villagers) reminded me I'd been away for a while. Even though I did play last week, I doubt I managed to speak to every villager. So I made sure to speak to as many as I could while I was playing last night.

I found Snake in the campsite - but I didn't ask him to move in. However, he is one of my favourite villagers....as he was one of my first villagers in my first New Leaf town.

Talking of old friends - I did invite someone new in today! I've adored Walker since I was just a kid playing Wild World, so I knew I'd have to have him in Acorn when Amy sent me his Amiibo card a few months ago!

It has taken me a while to get round to inviting him, but oh well :P He's here now!

I made sure to gather my perfect apples and sell them while they were on premium. It earned me a little cash, which I'll probably put towards my house.

Thanks for reading!

Squishy: Peary Tales

When I started my game this morning my fence was done. I kind of like the fairy-tale exterior mixed in with the mermaid one.

Katrina was in town and I actually made it early enough to see her.

The Nookling's shore looks really pretty lit up in the rain.

Flurry wanted me to deliver something to Rosie. Earlier She asks for a pear and I accidently asked about the fruit. I'm glad I made the mistake.

She's telling Peary tales

Going back to the sender during a delivery is optional but its fun seeing how they react. Flurry felt silly about the situation. Hmmmm who else says that?

Thanks for reading and have a good day!

Squishy: Mother's Day

On Saturday I got a nice surprise. Timbra is moving away!

We will miss you...

Flurry was telling me about Iggly books. He is the last person I would expect to read.

Camofrog was also talking about Iggly. Wow he's the talk of the town.

Rosie was telling me that she wanted to be a movie star. She already has a major role in a movie (not the best movie but still).

Then she started telling fairy-tales.

You want to be in movies and don't even know Cinderella?

Camofrog almost forgot that the blog was family friendly for a second. Careful there froggy!

He wanted a new catchphrase so like the immature person I am, I made him say this;

I'm enjoying this already

Yesterday was Mother's Day in Europe (which explains why I didn't post then, sorry). Mom sent me some pink carnations. I wore them for the day.

Pietro wanted some furniture so I gave him a watermelon.

Flurry gave me the decent nickname "cupcake". I like it!

Pietro lost something and I don't even want to know how he managed to do that.

Flo invited me to her house so I went over quickly. Her house actally looks pretty nice.

She told me a smart life hack. I could imagine her doing those life hack videos.

I decided to do the exterior of my house with the fairy-tale theme to match the town hall. I want to make this town a little different from my last Cosmic.

You can see photos of my old Cosmic in Jeff's Dream Suite Adventures here. Sadly its not online anymore so these are all I have left of that town (sniff)

Thanks for reading! I hope everyone in Europe had a good Mother's Day and to those in other countries I hope you had a good weekend regardless.

Beth: Splatoon 2 Global Testfire

It's an exciting weekend on the Switch front - the Splatoon 2 Global Testfire is out!

Image result for splatoon 2 testfire

This is essentially a demo, but in a different form to usual. The testifre allows you to play against people all over the world for an hour at a time at six points over the weekend. If you haven't managed to play one yet, there's still 2 chances!

I've played two so far and I'm going to talk a bit about my experiences below. I'll also have a video up soon with my best moments from tomorrows testfire at noon GMT! Please bear in mind that I'm a first-time Splatoon player, and I've never played before this weekend.

There are two maps available in the testfire - and personally I think they're great! They're both nice, easy to explore maps of a perfect size. The Reef (shown above) is an outdoor city/town, with buildings around. Musselforge Fitness is obviously inspired by a gym/climbing centre aesthetic.

They're not too big that they're intimidating for new users, but I also haven't become bored with them yet. I do have to say these maps are pretty basic, but they're good for beginners and I'm guessing that's the precise reason Nintendo chose to use them for the testfire!

The controls were actually pretty easy to manage, although Jeff has said over in his thoughts that it's much harder for players of the original game!

The only thing I found difficult at first was the camera. You kind of have to move it up and down by moving the joy-cons themselves, and it can be a little hard to get used to at first. I found it okay as long as you keep the Joycon in the same place while you're playing, but it can make aiming a little tricky.

Other than that, the only other gripe I have is the Superjump feature. I tried to follow the instructions, but with not much luck!

The weapons were okay - but obviously I have nothing to base that on. These are the only weapons I've known so far, and honestly I'm not that keen on the original splattershot gun. It was just too simple for me!

I did like the other - new - weapons though. They were a little more advanced with interesting features. But after trying them all, I ended up going back to the splat roller. It's only a simple roller - but it ended up being the easiest to use for me. I also love the easy coverage and ability to be able to sneak up behind other players and crush them :P

The only gripe I have is how quickly every weapon runs out of ink. You can only cover a tiny distance before you have to refill. However, there is a good thing about refilling. While you're collecting ink, you have a little on-screen bar telling you how much ink you have and when you're completely full.

My overall thoughts are actually pretty good. I've only ever seen videos of Splatoon, so I was planning on buying Splatoon 2 in the summer based on that alone.

This testfire has definitely confirmed my intentions - and also confirmed that I'm going to be addicted to the full game :P

With new weapons and maps, this game is going to be just great. I can't wait until summer!

Beth: Shamrock Day

Hi guys! I'm back! Sorry I haven't been around the past few posts - but I should be back on track from now.

Last week brought Shamrock Day in Animal Crossing world, and St Patricks Day in real life.

I made sure to go and get my beautiful green gift from Isabelle.

It's the first one I've got in Acorn, so I kept it on for the evening.

I also made sure to use the face-cutout standee while I was at the plaza.

I saw a notice for the fishing tourney and even made a note on my phone. Yet, I still missed it, because of Comic Con :P

My villagers admired my hat on my wander around town. I'm not keeping it on, guys ;)

Thanks for reading, I'll be back on Saturday with another post!

Squishy: The answer is love!

Tonight in Able Sisters there was a turnip dress for sale. That would have looked nicer for my green outfit, so I bought it and swapped them out.

After about a week of delaying it I finally fixed the grass in my campsite. Blocky but satisfying.

I was looking for the money rock but Camofrog's house smoke was in the way. its kind of annoying.

I caught Timbra and Flo having a conversation. Timbra was asking how Flo makes her skin smooth.

Flo said nothing changed in her skincare routine so they asked me. I answered love. Timbra was quite happy with that.

But Flo wasn't

Thanks for reading and have a lovely day

Squishy: Snake Snake SNAAAAKE!

Yesterday I discovered some good news. I won the Fishing Tourney. Yay!

My back room is finished. Now I just need to work on making the rooms bigger.

Flurry said that she liked watching people live. Awww your so cute.

She just wanted to plan a time to visit my house. So much for being cute.

I've started planting plain trees. You will find out my reasoning soon.

I've also been changing the grass in my campsite. It looks both blocky and fun.

I was looking for the money rock and accidently sat on it. I forgot this was a feature.

Today I decided to change back into my Spring/Summer clothes. Until next year green clothes!

And in my campsite Snake the Rabbit was chilling. Snake always reminded me of my friend Jeff.

Thank you for reading and have a good week.
