Beth: ACNL: My First Bug Off?

I've been in Acorn over a year now (maybe even a year and a couple months), and I can't believe I'm only just playing my first Bug Off now! I don't tend to play most days and I've obviously missed them before.

Nat explained all the rules to me early in the day, and we all went off catching bugs!

The notice board reminded me about the Bug Off and fireworks. I didn't play the fireworks tonight, but I will hopefully see them later in Jeff's town :)

I tried to give Nat a few different bugs - locusts and cicadas mostly.

One of the locusts I found gave me 65 points, which earned me first place!

Nat gave me a game shelf in return for that record, and told me I could get more with a bigger bug.

I then left the game for the day, and went back after 6pm to the ceremony. Unfortunately I only earned 3rd place, but I'm just happy I got any place at all :P

The sun started setting then, and I got to see a pretty sunset after so long!

Thanks for reading, see you soon :)

Squishy: Matching shirts

Today in town Filbert wanted to play a game hide and seek.

I said yes! I love plying hide and seek, even if Filbert lied about having a great hiding spot.

Jeremiah was hiding behind Portia's house. I found him so fast that he was speechless.

Portia hid behind that weather thingy that I never remember the name of.

The animals gave me a paper wall lantern for winning.

When the villagers started going their separate ways, I noticed that Filbert and Jeremiah were wearing the same shirt.

Besides the hide and seek I didn't play the game that much. I was busy getting A Level results.

Thank you for reading and well done to everyone who did get their A Level results today.

Beth: ACNL: Sylvia's Nose-Poking

Today, I saw my new zen door. I like it, and I think it fits with my house at the moment! Unfortunately, I don't think there's a lodge style door that would fit perfectly, but this will do.

I bumped into Sylvia, and she really stuck her nose into my business ;)

I found a clover on a pathway, this is how I'd love many different pathways all over town! I'm glad they're not technically 'weeds'. :P

I visited the campground, and didn't immediately know the camper...therefore I went in. I must have been in before, but I found out again that Pascal has a lot of fish.

Outside, Harvey was doing excersises. Boy do I wish I had that kind of motivation at 9:30pm.

I saw Monique, and honestly I want her to leave already :P

I do like where her house is though...it matches Walker's to make it look like a little street!

Thanks for reading, see you Friday!

Squishy: Cosmic Mini Map

Sadly my money tree didn't grow. RIP

While on my usual walk around town I saw a piece of furni- nope! It was a walking leaf.

The Bug Off is this Saturday for anyone who wants to participate.

Flurry wanted me to deliver a shirt to Filbert. He gave me a regal lamp as a reward.

I wanted to make my town map and put it on a design board. I took a photo of the map on my phone and copied it out.

I got the idea from a video on Mayor Mori's Youtube channel. You can find out how to do it in his video here

I forgot to add the pond near ReTail so I added that. I decided to skip my villager's houses since that changes often.

Thank you for reading and have a great day!

Squishy: Fireworks of 2017

On Friday I checked my money tree. Looks like its doing well. Hopefully there's actually money on it

Stitches noticed that I was holding my shovel. He seemed more focused on the functionality rather than the colour.

Gee... I wonder which one is real?

Stitches also told me that he enjoys Flurry's jokes. I'm glad your settling in.

Portia asked me to collect signatures (which I forgot to do)

Sunday was the second firework show of August. The villagers were enjoying themselves.

Isabelle gave me a star bopper to celebrate. I think that's the only one I forgot to get last year so that was handy.

Of course I put them one. So cute!

Here is a cute photo I accidently got.

One thing I didn't know until now was that the Happy Home Showcase doesn't have fireworks in the sky

At 10pm I opened my gate for some fireworks but after 20 minutes no one showed up. It made sense since school is starting up (and has even already started in some places)

Thanks for reading and have a good week.

Beth: HHD: Roald's Raceway

I decided to do some interior designing today, so I headed onto HHD and found a chicken, a penguin and a hippo all with ideas. Roald seemed to be inspired by Mario!

Knox, however, just wanted a battle.

And the hippo wanted a construction zone, and he already had the shirt to match.

I decided to park him by the railway, just so at least people can get to his racetrack :P

A lot of items were unlocked with this one, including a Mario Kart!

I used all of the items inside, and eventually had them surrounding me :P

I tried to make Roald's house like an organised garage/pitstop, with a scooter and kart surrounded by tools, a radio, helmets and shelves

Outside, I parked a few cars as I didn't want to spend ages creating an actual raceway :P Why don't they have rugs for this?

Thanks for reading, see you Wednesday!

5 Switch Games I Want

Hi everyone! As I've just got a new laptop today (hell yes!), I thought I'd do a more description-filled post rather than a game focused one.

So at the moment, I only have 3 Switch games - Breath of the Wild, Super Mario Kart 8 and Splatoon 2. Due to my typical student budget, I'm going to have to be picky with the games I want to buy in the future. Let's talk about a few I'd like to choose!

Super Mario Oddysey is definitely going to be a big one for the Switch, and I will definitely be one to join in with the hype. I've always loved platformer Mario games (Super Mario 64 is one of my favourite games of all time), and I can't wait for an even more open world style!

Rime is an adventure-puzzle game scheduled for release in November, and I love the look of the gorgeous, soft-looking artwork.

I nearly ended up buying this one for PC, and I'm really excited to be able to play it on the Switch. It's an indie farming simulation game that I've heard is a cross between Harvest Moon and Animal Crossing.

Rocket League is one of the only games I've seen played live, and it works great. I can't wait until I can play it for myself!

I'm not quite sure whether I will buy this one, but I am a basketball fan and I would love to play it.

Thanks for reading! See you on Sunday :)

Squishy: Stitches and a golden shovel

Yesterday I found Stitches's house plot. Its not often I get villagers moving into the southern part of town.

Filbert invited me over to his house. He was giving me mixed messages about the cleanliness of his home.

A thunder stormed started when I left his house. Bummer.

After buying some fertiliser at Leif's, he gave me the golden shovel. I never have to buy bags of poop ever again

Oooooh, Shiny!

Today I met Stitches the bear cub.

I saw a lost item on the ground. I learnt my lesson about skipping them...

After checking with two frogs and a Daisy, I found out that it belonged to Filbert. He gave me a lava lamp as a reward.

Rosie wanted some new furniture so I gave her... Filbert's lava lamp!

I popped into the Roost to listen to the music (yeah I'm weird). Portia and Brewster had a conversation about adding to the menu.

Wait so if Brewster can only make coffee (and hot chocolate) how does he coo-k his own meals?

I decided to put my golden shovel to use and attempt to grow a money tree.

I even fertilised it just in case.

Thanks for reading and don't forget that I'm opening my gate on Sunday at 9pm (UK time)
